Jean was hospitalized in 1689, 1693, and 1696 at Hotel-Dieu (hospital) Quebec. Jean Guindon decided to go back to France in 1696.

(Francois⁴¹) Born 24 Sep 1662 in Ville Loudun, Chaelleraut, Poitou, France. Pierre and his brother, Jean Guindon, came from Saint-Pierre-du-Martay Parish, Loudun, France to "New France" as a volunteer. On 6 Aug 1688 Francois Hazeur, who had a tradesman service in Quebec, hired Pierre to work at the water mill under construction in Malbale. According to Pierre's pre-arranged agreement, Pierre married Catharine Rouchellet-Braza 21 Nov 1706 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. On February 15, 1711, Pierre signed a marriage agreement with Anne Charbonneau (Guillaume Labelle's widow), witnessed by Senet, the notary public. It seems that this marriage agreement was cancelled, because the religious wedding did not take place. Pierre died September 26, 1733 and was buried September 27, 1733 in St-Francois-de-Sales cemetery. In Loudun, France, there were three main branches of Guedons. One branch specialized in making hat /bonnets, the second were shoemakers and the third branch were butchers. Pierre Guedon (Guindon) was a butcher who came over to Canada at the age of 21 years with his older brother Jean. Pierre is the only one from the Loudun region who stayed in Canada. Many others settled mainly in Acadia (the Maritimes) but returned to France before the mass deportation.
